Buffalo was the name that Jamie Morgan and Ray Petri gave to their improvised and ad hoc studio which would then become a phenomenon that defined the look and feel and attitude of 80s in fashion photography and style.

‘1985’ — published in 2025 by IDEA — is a tribute to the year right at the heart of the 80s when Buffalo was in full flow and Killer was the ultimate The Face cover.

In designing the book, our intention was first and foremost to celebrate the imagery and the bold statements that they make. In choosing to feature contact sheets, the editorial design celebrates the process behind these iconic pictures.
